　今シーズン、F1デビューを果たすシャルル・ルクレールは黒をベースに母国モナコの国旗をモチーフとした赤白のデザイン。昨年、圧倒的な強さでF2を制し、近い将来フェラーリ入りもウワサされる逸材のヘルメットは、まったく違和感なくそのまま赤いマシンにも馴染みそうだ。

New helmet design this year ??. Thanks @bellhelmetseurope and @mikovicdesigns for painting and @seanbullliveries for designing it. Below is the story from the guy behind the design @seanbullliveries "With Current Helmet designs being so cluttered, complicated and losing their iconic status with the designs changing from year to year, and some cases race to race, I wanted to see how the current designs could be ‘reduced’ and be toned down as minimal and as clean as possible: from this I created my 70’s style helmet series in which I took the 2017 grid’s designs and parred them back as far as I could take them whilst still being recognisable to that driver. From this Marcus Contacted me with a view to create his 2018 helmet in a similar style! Developing the design process with Marcus I took heavy inspiration from his Ronnie Peterson Tribute helmet, with the bold colour pallete and minimal design, especially the iconic 70’s style font and his iconic double pinstripe at the base of the helmet. With these key aspects defined I looked to adapt and reduce the complications of Marcus’s previous helmet to create something that followed his own design’s shapes but reduced to the bare outlines, with a sharp 70’s cut, no swooping or curved radius’s as these weren’t features on the designs of the time period we were going after. Finally the top was decorated with a bold 70’s style race number: clear and impactful, adorned with that Peterson-esque font inside with Marcus’s own Name. The clear goal of this project was to bring back the look and feel of iconic helmets from a past ‘Glory-Era’ of F1, and with this 2018 design I hope it will stand out amongst the gradations, swoops and aggressive angles from the other helmet designs of today. 　スウェーデン国旗の黄色と青が直線的に塗り分けられたマーカス・エリクソンのシンプルなデザインは、まるでひと昔前のＦ1ドライバーのヘルメットのよう。近年、複雑なデザインを好むドライバーが増えた中で、逆に新鮮さを感じるかもしれない。

　昨年スーパーフォーミュラに参戦し、シーズン終盤にF1デビューを果たしたピエール・ガスリー。今年のヘルメットはフランス国旗のトリコロールをトロロッソのカラーリングのトーンに合わせ、トータルパッケージのデザインを実現している。

トロロッソ・ホンダのブレンドン・ハートレーは、動画でニューヘルメットを紹介。ガスリーと同様、レッドブルのロゴはマシンのカラーリングに合わせたブルーとシルバーに変更された。珍しい赤いインナーが特徴で、頭頂部には母国ニュージーランドの地図が描かれている。
