F1第16戦アメリカGPの金曜フリー走行2回目は、天候悪化によりセッション開始の延期が発表されている。
金曜2回目のフリー走行は、現地時間で午後2時からスタートする予定だったが、サーキット・オブ・ジ・アメリカズの上空は灰色の分厚い雲に覆われ、強い雨とともに落雷の恐れがあることからコースマーシャルの作業ができないと判断され、再開時間の発表もなく、セッション開始が延期されることとなった。
グランドスタンドのサーキットビジョンには、メキシコ湾に近づきつつある史上最強クラスのハリケーン「パトリシア」を警戒するメッセージも掲げらている。
